Debunking myths about Tom Yum! Coconut milk is not added to classic Tom Yum! To make the soup creamy and rich, unsweetened condensed milk is used, which can be replaced with regular cow's milk. But coconut milk is added to another soup - Tom Kha. These are two different Thai dishes, do not confuse them!
