Masoor Dal Kababs

Ingredients

- 1 cup lal masoor dal
- 1 cup hot water
- 250g bottle gourd
- 1 onion
- 2-3 green chilies
- 1 tsp ginger
- 20-30g coriander leaves
- 6-7 garlic cloves
- Garam masala
- Meat masala (optional)
- Salt to taste
- 3 tbsp bread crumbs

Method

1. Grind 1 cup lal masoor dal into a powder using a mixer grinder. Transfer the powder to a bowl and add 1 cup of hot water. Mix until a smooth paste forms.
2. Finely chop 1 onion, 2-3 green chilies, 1 tsp ginger, 6-7 garlic cloves, and 20-30g coriander leaves using a chopper.
3. Grate 250g of bottle gourd.
4. Add the chopped onion, green chilies, ginger, garlic, and coriander to the masoor dal paste. Also, incorporate the grated bottle gourd. Mix everything thoroughly.
5. Add 1 tsp garam masala, salt to taste, 2 tsp meat masala, and 3 tbsp bread crumbs to the mixture. Mix well.
6. Shape the mixture into small balls, then flatten them into round patties. Set them aside.
7. Heat a grill pan or regular pan and brush some oil over it.
8. Cook the kebabs on the pan until they are golden brown on both sides.

Your masoor dal kebabs are ready to be served with onions and green chutney.
