This flaky and delicious Lachha Paratha recipe is perfect for any occasion. Made with simple ingredients like yogurt, milk, all-purpose flour, ghee, and egg, this paratha is a sure hit with everyone. The dough is kneaded well and then layered with ghee before being rolled out and baked to perfection. With a crispy and flaky texture, this Lachha Paratha is perfect to pair with your favorite curry or as a standalone snack.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup yogurt
1 cup milk
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp ghee
1 egg

Instructions:

In a mixing bowl, combine yogurt, milk, salt, and sugar. Whisk until smooth.

Add flour to the bowl and knead the mixture well to form a smooth dough.

Add ghee to the dough and knead again until the dough is soft and pliable.

Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.

Take one portion and roll it out into a thin disc. Brush some ghee on top.

Make small pleats on the disc by folding it in a back-and-forth motion.

Gently stretch the pleated disc to form a thin strip.

Coil the strip into a round shape, tucking the end underneath the coil.

Press the coil down gently and roll it out into a flat disc, being careful not to press too hard on the edges.

Repeat this process with the remaining dough portions.

Preheat the oven to 180⁰C.

Beat the egg in a small bowl.

Brush the beaten egg on top of each paratha.

Place the parathas on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

Serve hot with your favorite curry or chutney.
