Let's say Sanjay Lal wants to gain muscle. His maintenance calories are around 2000, and he needs approximately 2300-2400 calories for muscle gain. Now, despite all efforts, he can only reach up to 2000 calories. So, for these extra three to four hundred calories, first, eat as much as you normally can. Then, go for the low-hanging fruits. Low-hanging means foods that provide plenty of calories without eating too much. So, ghee and oil are the most calorie-dense foods on earth. Add an extra spoonful or two of these. Then, go for peanuts or peanut butter. Add a couple of spoonfuls or a handful of peanuts. You can even make a shake using banana, peanut butter and milk ingredients.
