Masoor Dal Nimbu Wali
Ingredients:
Dal for Boiling
1/2 cup Masoor Dal (Red lentils)
1/2 Tsp Salt
1/4 Tsp Turmeric Powder
For Tadka
1 Tbsp Ghee
1/2 Tsp Cumin Seeds
1 Tsp Garlic Paste
1 Tsp Ginger Paste
1 Green Chilli (chopped)
1 Small size Onion, finely chopped
1 Tsp Red Chili Powder
1/4 Tsp Black Pepper Powder
2 Tsp Coriander Powder
Salt to taste
1 Tsp Kasoori Methi
Juice of 1 lemon

Method
Rinse and Cook the Dal
Rinse the masoor dal under running water until the water runs clear.
In a pot or pressure cooker, add the rinsed dal and enough water to cover it (about 2-3 cups).
Cook the dal until it's soft and fully cooked. If using a pressure cooker, cook for about 3 to 4 whistle.
Prepare the Tempering (Tadka):In a pan, heat the oil or ghee over medium heat.Add cumin seeds Allow them to splutter.Add the Garlic, Ginger and Green Chillies one by one.
Add Chopped Onion and sauté Cook until the onion soften.
Add Red chili powder, Black Pepper Powder, Coriander Powder, Salt and Kasoori Methi.Then add little water. Mix well.Combine Dal and Add the cooked dal to the pan with the tempering. let it simmer for 5-10 minutes so the flavors meld together.Finish with Lemon Juice:Turn off the heat and stir in the lemon juice. Adjust the seasoning if necessary.
Serve hot with Roti and Salad.
